Top 10 book of 2017

Saturday, December 30, 2017

I managed to read 32 book during 2017, which isn't bad when you take into consideration a new job (that ultimately didn't work out which is why I found a new job that I'll be starting in about 3 weeks), and plowing through classes so that I could finish my grad school degree before 2018. Of those 32 books these are my top 10 favorite (not in any order)!

30256109
American Street by Ibi Zoboi
(this is also my favorite book cover!!!)

27362503
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
(a non diverse book)

25167846
Beast by Brie Spangler

25062038
Little and Lion by Brandy Colbert

21490991
The Boy in the Black Suit by Jason Reynolds

19547856
(No idea why I didn't review this. lol)

25883848
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
(A non-diverse book, but I loved it)

26156987
If I was Your Girl by Meredith Russo
(Loved that this was Own Voices)

25614492
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
(I wouldn't necessarily put this in the category of diverse either. But it's a great read... or listen)

28686840
Holding up the Universe by Jennifer Niven
(not Own Voices but still good)

May your 2018 be filled with joy and books!

  1. There are so many books on your list that I have really enjoyed as well! I really need to get to reading Salt to the Sea one of these days. I have heard so many amazing things about this one. :)

    1. That's awesome. I think this was a well rounded reading year for me. I really liked Salt to the Sea. I did the audio book so I'm not sure if that had an impact on my enjoyment, but I suggest it to anyone and everyone!

      Thanks for dropping by!

  2. I loved Simon Vs., Salt to the Sea, and If I Was Your Girl. I really need to get on American Street. I tried The Boy in the Black Suit awhile back, and didn't get into it, but since then I've read and loved three other Reynolds books, so I want to try it again.

    1. American Street is full of emotion but a very good book. I actually haven't read any other Reynolds books. It's a travesty, but I'm getting there.
So glad we have so many book loves in common.

      Thanks for stopping by!
